21st International Café Meeting: Exploring Canada's Economic Landscape and Transition to a Low-Carbon Future
International Café Meeting is an event where international students talk about their home countries.
We are going to invite Marina Giannitsos-san as a speaker for our 21st International Café Meeting. Marina-san will talk about Canada’s economic landscape and its transition to a low-carbon future. She will also introduce us to some sweet Canadian sweets made with maple syrup! Students, faculty members, staff members, anyone is welcome!
Time & Date: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 20th, 2023
Venue: S-131, Agriculture Main Building
Please see here for more details.
Marina-san’s comment: What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Canada? Is it the cold weather? Our obsession with hockey and maple syrup? Or maybe our beautiful nature and wildlife? These things do define us as a country, but we are more complex than all that.
At this event I’ll dig into some facts you may not know about Canada, outline the differences between our regional geographies and economies, and discuss our complicated shift to sustainability.
Come try some sweet Canadian treats made with our famous maple syrup like maple bacon, maple taffy, and maple cookies!
