We have a lounge space in our office for people to use. You can use the lounge to do group work or homework, read Japanese textbooks, travel guides, etc., and use the computer. Feel free to stop by!

Rules for Using the Lounge

1) A lounge
is to be arranged in the International Exchange Section, Graduate School and Faculty of Agriculture. The lounge (Room S-131) shall be used according to the rules described below.
2) Eligibility for use
Undergraduate and graduate students, teaching and office staff, research students, and researchers who belong to the Faculty or Graduate School of Agriculture are eligible to use the lounge. Given that it is a space under the control of the International Exchange Section, the lounge shall preferentially be used by foreign students. In the case of a request for use from any personnel of other departments, the Steering Committee of the International Exchange Section shall judge the appropriateness of the use.
3) Available times
The lounge will be open for the same periods as those of the International Exchange Section, as shown below. During the available hours, the room shall be used freely in principle. It is not permissible to use the room on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, as well as during the Bon (August 11-16) and year-end (December 28 to January 5) periods, even in the case of overtime use. Available time: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
4) General rules
Every user of the lounge must observe the following: a) Exercise good manners in the room to avoid annoying others. b) Do not keep documents, books and magazines, stationery, and other personal items in the room. Take them with you when you leave. c) Never light a fire in the room. d) Clean the room after use, and take any waste with you when you leave.
5) Overtime use
Under attendance of a teaching or office staff of Graduate School or Faculty of Agriculture (responsible user) and upon submitting a prior request, the lounge can also be used for periods outside of in the available times specified above. How to apply:The responsible user shall complete the enclosed application form, and seal the form. Then, submit the form to the International Exchange Section at least 7 days before the planned use date to obtain approval from the Director of the International Exchange Section. In the case of a request for periodic use, a maximum period of 3 months from the first day of use can be applied for. Overtime users must observe the following rules in addition to those started in 4): a) The responsible user or a substitute shall receive the key for the common room on the day of use, and return it on the following day. When using the room on the day before a holiday (usually on a Friday), return the key on the first weekday of the next week (usually on a Monday). The key must be returned each time after use, even in the case of periodic use. b) Use of the room shall be until 8:00 p.m. at the latest. c) Do not to make a noise in the room to avoid bothering researchers in the rooms nearby .
6) Prohibition of use
Any user who violates the rules in 4) and 5) may be prohibited from future use of the room.
